Wednesday 29th June 2022. School visit to Minehead as part of our Eco-Warrior Week.

Tuesday 28th June 2022. Today, the children enjoyed a workshop via video link with Carymoor recycling centre. The workshop was based on 'Plastic'.

Tuesday 21st June 2022. Robins have been reading their reports which announce that dragons have been sighted over Kingston St Mary. Police were disturbed to see an adult Somerset Ridgeback Dragon swooping over the village. Residents have recently claimed that baby dragons have been seen breaking out of their shells. Residents warned to stay indoors.

Tuesday 24th May 2022. Our Jubilee hat designs are finished!

Monday 23rd May 2022. This morning the children have been designing and making their Jubilee hats.

Thursday 5th May 2022. Today we have been thinking about the rainforest. We have been looking closely at seed pods and discussing seed dispersal.

Friday 29th April 2022. Today we have been testing our 'gondola' designs.

Thursday 28th April 2022. We are starting our new topic on a contrasting locality 'St Lucia'. Mrs Griffiths travelled there over the holidays. She was lucky enough to travel through the rainforest on a gondola. She asked us to design our own gondola that must move from one side of the classroom to the next. We will be taking these outside to see if they can travel from tree to tree.

Thursday 31st March 2022. Maths Day in Robins.

Wednesday 30th March 2022. This week in English the children having been looking at 'headlines'. Today we looked through some old newspapers that were published over 50 years ago.

Thursday 24th March 2022. In Maths, the children have been finding out about Pi and produced these wonderful dream catchers.

Tuesday 12th January. Robins have been dressing up as Vikings today.

Wednesday 5th January 2022. Today we started our topic by constructing a timeline of the Anglo Saxons and Vikings.

Friday 10th December 2021. It's 'Save The Children' Christmas Jumper Day! Yesterday, we also made these beautiful Christmas stars.

Wednesday 1st December. Today we have been linking our Science and English work. We carried out experiments using solids and liquids. We then had to write up our potions using conjunctions and time connectives.

This week we have been continuing with our 'Wonderful Wizards' theme. The children were able to link their English with their maths by designing their own school. They discussed angles, scale, coordinates and measurement. I was very impressed with their overall designs.

Monday 22nd November 2021. Over the last few weeks we have been finding out about the changing states of matter. We have experimented with liquids, solids and gasses. We have had lot's of fun!

Wednesday 17th November. Robins are all 'magical' at maths. Over the last couple of weeks, we have been studying addition and subtraction.

Tuesday 16th November. Well done to Robins for completing their homework of designing a magical potion and a new perfume.

Tuesday 19th October. Today was the end of our 'Goblinology' topic in English. We celebrated by making goblin masks and acting out stories in the woods.

Wednesday 13th October. Harvesting vegetables from our class vegetable patch.

Friday 1st October. This week we have been planning, editing and publishing our Goblin Reports.

Friday 24th September. Sunflower pictures to go in our local church.

Friday 17th September. Our topic this term is 'Bodies, Burps and Bile'. We have been looking at our skeletons.

Friday 17th September. Robins have been studying the work by Pablo Picasso. We particularly found his work on 'cubism' interesting.

Friday 10th September. Robins Ukulele lessons. We had so much fun this afternoon!

June 21 - Year 3 looked at a Robin's nest and then made their own nests.

June 2021. We have been getting the garden ready for planting up. We have also been creating areas for insects.

Tuesday 25th May 2021.During Pentecost, the desciples could not see the Holy Spirit but they could feel wind blowing through the room and see tongues of fire. We made some windmills as a reminder that their power is all around us.

Friday 7th May 2021. Today in tennis we have been practising our throwing skills. The children have made huge improvements since last week. Well done Robins!

Thursday 6th May 2021. Maths in Robins.

Monday 26th April 2021. Today we have been serving others by undertaking a 'Litter Pick. It was great fun!

Friday 23rd April 2021. Today we decided to plant our Dwarf French Beans ready for our competition. We had to decide upon their ideal growing conditions. Do we need to plant them in direct sunlight? Does the seed need to be covered in soil? We will find out over the next few weeks.

Friday 24th April. Today we started our tennis lessons.

Thursday 23rd April. It's World Earth Day!

Well done Jesse, who won our class Easter raffle. Children have been given a raffle ticket over the last half term for showing examples of our Christian Values or making exceptional progress in class. Jesse won a Malteser Easter egg and a family ticket to Fern Animal Sanctuary for one year.

Friday 27th November. Advent starts this Sunday. Today we designed some Christmas wreaths out of recycled materials. We were really pleased with the results.

Friday 27th November. A very cold and frosty PE lesson. We still had lots of fun!

Monday 23rd November. Writing a persuasive advertisement for 'Marvellous Mud Trousers'.

Friday 13th November. Designing and decorating lanterns to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of light.

Thursday 12th November. We are thrilled with our Stonehenge Powder Paint pictures.

Thursday 12th November 2020. Changing lives near Kingston St Mary. From coast to coast, in towns and cities right across the UK, BBC Children in Need is out there making a difference. The amazing projects they support help change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people all over the country. This year Robins are fundraising by coming to school dressed in their favourite PE kit. All the children gave a £1 donation.

Wednesday 11th November. Stonehenge Paintings using powder paints.

Wednesday 11th November Today we watched the service from Westminster Cathedral and then coloured our poppies. We are going to take them home to share in our communities.

Friday 6th November. Comparing rocks and soils.

Friday 6th November. Hunter gatherer camouflage designs (Autumn theme).

Thursday 5th November. We used rectangular-shaped biscuits to build scale models of Stonehenge. The children were confident with the layout of the stone circle and we also had lots of fun!

Wednesday 4th November. 3D Stonehenge models.

Monday 2nd November. Tilly and Ruben have been carving pumpkins over the weekend.

Wednesday 14th October. Stone Age Survival. The children were challenged to become stone age hunter-gatherers. They were then asked to stick a picture of the food they were able to gather on the correct season. In which season were they able to gather the greatest variety of food?

Wednesday 14th October 2020. This week we have looking at the book 'Stone Age Boy'. We have been mapping the story and innovating with some fantastic ideas.

Wednesday 14th October 2020.' Mammoth Maths'. We have been working hard to improve our addition and subtraction skills.

Monday 13th July 2020. Ruben wishes he hadn't planted his sunflower in his greenhouse. It's huge!

Tuesday 7th July 2020. Steffan has been having a go at our well-being activity this week. Brody and Finley have been baking with bananas and Jesse has been celebrating all her hard work through lock down with a huge bar of chocolate. Ruben received a Joe Wicks t-shirt for completing all his workouts.Well done everyone!

Monday 13th July 2020. Jesse has been stacking pebbles.

Monday 6th July 2020. Have a go at making some of these pictures out of pebbles you find on the beach. I managed to make lots of things from pebbles I found on Beer beach last weekend.

Thursday 11th June. Freddie has been enjoying his swimming at Tarr Steps, helping his dad in the digger and growing his sunflower. Josh is continuing to work hard with spelling and writing. He also had a drawing competition with his mum.

Tuesday 9th June. Tom has been building some unique models with his Lego over the last week. He has also made some delicious homemade pizza.

Friday 20th March. It's 'Fun Day Friday'. We are having hot chocolate and playing board games today while celebrating all our hard work over the last two terms.

Monday 10th February. It's the start of 'Enterprise Week'. We have been given a £50 budget to come up with ideas on how to improve an area of our school. We have chosen the 'Reflective Garden'.

Wednesday 5th February. Year 4 visited Blackbrook Sports Centre for a morning of sports. The aim of the session was to introduce the fundamental skills required to improve performance in net/wall games.

Wednesday 5th February. Portraits of King Alfred the Great. He became King of Wessex in AD 871.

Wednesday 5th February. The Bayeux Tapestry, a historical record created in the 11th century, is the only masterpiece of its kind in the world. The manufacture of this work was, in all probability, entrusted to an Anglo-Saxon workshop supervised by Odon de Conteville, Bishop of Bayeux and half brother of William the Conqueror.

Friday 24th January 2020 Today we are celebrating the Chinese New Year by cooking and sharing a delicious meal.

Thursday 23rd January What a fantastic school trip! Today we visited the Somerset Museum in Taunton. The children were able to take part in a recreation of the Battle of Edington, read some runes, design their own rune stone, make their own Alfred Jewel and learn about Saxon poetry.

Friday 10th January. Saxon dance lessons. We listened to music from 'The Hobbit' film and thought about how the Saxons travelled around.

Wednesday 8th January 2020. We are designing and beginning to decorate our Saxon shields.

Friday 20th December Well done to all the children who took part in the Carol Concert last night in the church. We were very proud of our Year 4's who had speaking parts.

We all got together today to wish our friends in New Zealand a very Happy Christmas. We miss you Harrison and Eva and hope to hear from you soon.

Thursday 19th December. Today we enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner.

Monday 16th December. Designing our own Christmas Number One Hit Song. People who write pop songs work in different ways. Some people start with the lyrics (the words), others start with a melody (the tune).
