We are...Puzzle Solvers


We have been looking at the importance of following instructions, creating simple instructions on the computer and thinking about how the order of instructions can affect the results.  We have learned that a set of instructions carried out in a specific order is called an 'algorithm' - we all earned stickers for remembering that word!


First, we followed some precise instructions to colour in a bird.



Then, we followed a list of instructions to decorate a gingerbread house.



We noticed that all the birds and all the gingerbread houses looked identical.

Next, we tried some sequencing activities; some were harder than others.  We realised that the outcomes are different if you don't follow the sequences correctly.
